I did this same exact deal last year and there was an option to get the free subscription or to get $9.99 issued it was in the offer in small print. I opted for the $9.99 and did receive a check! I’m going to snag one of thes and hope the same scenario..
I just am not seeing where there is the option to receive the rebate instead of the magazine!
WARNING! I did this deal in October when it was posted on another website. My rebate (I only bought and requested 1) was refused, saying it was past the deadline, even though the deadline clearly stated it was June 2012. The company is being really stinky about it – hanging up on people and making up excuses and changing their policies as they see fit. Unfortunately I cannot take mine back to the store because I already used it. So I’m out the $9. I would have never bought this if I knew I wasn’t going to get the rebate – I can get this kind of stuff lots cheaper (or free) with coupons. Buyer beware!!!!
I also did this deal back in October, and received the same denial letter. I called the customer service number and they would do nothing for me. :-(

I did the one in October for the Allure rebate, so I’m not sure if that’s the one you’re referring to, but that one worked for me as well, and these gift sets include subscriptions to magazines other than Allure so it should work out. That’s my take on it anyways. I’m going for it :)
I got mine in the mail today and I’m not seeing where it says I can opt for the 9.99 rebate. It just sends me to a website. Anyone else having this problem? I think I’m just going to take it back to Walmart…
I also just received mine in the mail today, and opened it, and there is NOTHING to mail in, just a card that takes you to a website to get the free magazine subscription… … I think I will be returning mine to Walmart! :)

I just got mine today also. I ordered the teen vouge one, and written in the instructions at the bottom of the webpage you go to is the instructions for refund.
I am going to try it.
Now the Men’s Gilette one does not have any option except to order the 4 free issues of sports illustrated. I may take that one back. Not sure.

There is a wbsite that you print off a tiny form at the bottom of the page to get a refund. I have done it and it takes less than two weeks to get ur check..
