Don’t we all love a REALLY good slow cooker recipe?
I know I do – especially with five kids, and busy busy schedules! Playing with meals in my slow cooker (crock pot…) makes me feel like an absolute rock star in the kitchen.
And it’s even better when I open the door from coming back from errands and I hear the kids say …
“Mom. Our house always smells SO GOOD!”
AWESOME MOM points! (Or, awesome Dad points if you are a dad who uses your slow cooker!)
Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef
Do you call it a slow cooker or a crockpot? Whatever you call that beautiful item that cooks up delicious food, you can add this to your repertoire of recipes.
As much as I LOVE Slow Cooker Taco Soup, this is my favorite copycat takeout recipe – because feeing children is expensive! When going out to eat is not an option, this Slow Cooker Mongolian Beef is a lifesaver.
It comes together easily with:
- flank steak (sliced into strips and then diced)
- lite soy sauce or coconut aminos
- cornstarch
- garlic
- ginger
- granulated sugar
- the typical spices – salt, pepper — you know :)
When it all comes together (easily and quickly), it cooks up in the slow cooker in as little as 2 1/2 hours – or, 4 if you choose to cook low and slow.
Serve on top of steamed white rice and enjoy your restaurant style meal in the comfort of your own home.
What could be better than that?!
