Have you given your Personal Care gift baskets? We haven’t gotten together with my husband’s side of the family so we still have them ALL here at the house.
My family celebrated Christmas and was here .. each person coming for a week or two, but never at the same time. David’s was scattered all over, and I highly doubt we will be getting together… we’ll gift his mom, dad and sister tomorrow since they are near our home, but the other 2 brothers and their wives will need to wait.
We will likely be holding the items here until someone comes here, or until we go there – but we don’t plan on going there for a LONG time.
So I might just have time to add to these!
Grandpa and the 2 brother in laws each get their own bag – we picked up the Craftsman Tote at Sears for $9 (FREE with Points), the Husky Bucket Jockey for a few dollars at Home Depot HERE, and the Bucket was just $3 – $4. Then the Blue Cooler we’re giving to the brother who loves to go to Sports Games, who also has young kids.. that was summer clearance at Target ( a few dollars I think ).
Grandpa is getting a BONUS Plush Throw, 50 x 70 – which was FREE with Points at Sears too… each guy got 1 HUGE Mouthwash (Crest or Colgate), 4 Shave Creams, 2 Body Wash, and 8 Bars of Soap, along with 2 Deodorant, Dental Floss, Cough Drops, Carmex and Floss Picks.
Crazy as it sounds, I didn’t buy toothpaste all year…or toothbrushes (Crazy – right? I don’t’ use commercial toothpaste so we haven’t gotten any in over a year).
Each of the women had their own totes – these were also at Target on the 75% OFF Summer Clearance. I paid $4 for each tote – great deal!
I try to buy 4 of every item, but it doesn’t always work – so we split evenly between the 4, and if I have an odd number, then we divide by their own personal preference. For the items on this post, I ordered coupons only for the Herbal Essence… aside from that, I don’t clip or buy newspapers, so all items purchased were done with NO coupons (some were strictly coupon-less catalina deals at Fry’s) or, Fry’s Digital Coupons.
Only in the case of a few items were printables used. So it is possible to do this even without clipping – you just won’t do it on such a GRAND scale! :)
My Mother in Law is infatuated with Pine Sol… Glade, Tide, and Fabric Refresher – so that goes to her in every basket (I can’t use it because it gives me a headache). We also scored a really nice Land’s End Throw (we mentioned HERE) and I know she’ll love it for her bedroom.
And all those fun Walgreens Photo Deals we had this year, we actually got a few reusable bags and gifted one to her so she can use it when she goes to the store. The others were gifted to my side of the family.
Since Grandma is too old for Tampons, we save those for the younger women – along with some type of Detergent/Pods, Shave Cream, 4 Shampoo & Conditioner, and random other items.
One sister in law actually requested U by Kotex Liners so I saved what I had for her… then threw in random other items. I still have 5-6 boxes of Tampons in the Garage that I can’t reach… so before I gift, I’ll have to ask David to drag out the ladder to get them down.
Then we gave the other sister in law L’Oreal because it is her favorite, and Neutrogena Soap, along with Kroger Facial Care, and a few Glade items.
We have about 24 – 30 bottles left of hair care that my back doesn’t want to carry in from the garage so we’ll leave that for the husband … once he brings in for me then I’ll stuff 4 more bottles in each basket. That should help each of them avoid buying hair care for a few months – hopefully!
We’re also giving each of them a bottle of Young Living Lavender Essential Oil .. and that won’t go in until the VERY moment we give the baskets, because right now my kids are so intrigued by tampons and shampoo… I don’t want to find their little hands in the oil.
My 2 year old has already opened and unwrapped 2 boxes of O.B. Tampons so we might have to gift a little less than a box of “40” – hopefully the recipient won’t count!
See our tips for putting together these fun gift baskets for yourself so you can give one later this year!
