Staples will accept a competitor coupon from Office Depot – it may vary by store but last time we had an Office Depot 40% off coupon I had absolutely no issues walking into my local Staples store.
Staples has the 8 1/2 x 11 Multi-Purpose Paper (case) for $46.99 this week in their ad. There is also a Staples Easy Rebate of $17 when you buy the case (shown in ad, must purchase in store!) Purchase the paper for $46.99, use the 40% off Office Depot coupon – pay $28.19 out of pocket, and then send in for the Staples Easy Rebate for $17 – bringing your case of paper down to a whoppin’ $11.19.
Do note: Those of you who plan on doing this at Staples, I highly suggest you call your local store to ensure they’ll take a printed competitor coupon from Office Depot. Save yourself the time, and disappointment by calling to find a store that will honor.
Arrowhead Store WILL not take 40%. I read their policy, it does not prohibit its use, but the manager claims it does. It is an “interpretation thing.” He says they will match the same “ad” price including items with a gift card, but not a percentage off
Your store may not, but my store, and many others, did. Hence why I say call first, and if they dont, then try another store. My manager over at Signal Butte and Baseline high-fived me… but like I said, its a YMMV.

I had no problem redeeming the coupon last time, but the manager wouldn’t give me the easy rebate receipt b/c he said the coupon couldn’t be used in combo with another promo. I just nodded in agreement, then went home and submitted online anyway – all I needed was the offer number, which someone on a deal site was kind enough to post. The only other part I needed was my receipt number, which was, of course, on the bottom of my receipt. So, if someone does this deal, please post the offer number in case others have this same issue.
Or is this week’s offer an instant rebate rather than an easy rebate? LOL, so many terms! If so, disregard my comment above about needing the easy rebate offer number!

Staples at Metrocenter won’t take it either, even though they always have before. Hope that saves someone a trip.
