Aren’t these CUTE for the kids?
If you make your kids lunches for school, this is a really neat way to incorporate something FUN for them… plus, what little one doesn’t love Bananas, Apples, & Peanut Butter?
I picked up a few Sandwich Presses on Amazon, and Candy Eyes, and Candy Lips, and made these for FUN for the kids lunchboxes at school yesterday…
They are REALLY easy to make – Bananas, Apples, Peanut Butter, Honey, Cinnamon, Raisins, and Bread – you can pick up the bread at the 99 Only store for just $.99 – they have Brand Name Nature’s Own (Whole Grain Wheat)..
We ALSO picked up the Raisins at the 99 Only store too!
Mix the Peanut Butter with the Cinnamon and Honey, then spoon on the bread. Add some raisins, diced apples, & sliced bananas.
Use the Pastry Press to shape the bread, and then add the candy eyes (we used a little peanut butter to do that!) Then pop in the oven for a few minutes. We use our Silicone Baking Mats instead of Foil!
CUTEST sandwiches ever – so cute it was hard to eat them! In addition to the items in the recipe you may want to get these items too:
- 8 Slices of Nature's Own Honey Wheat Bread or Whole Grain Bread
- 1 Banana (sliced)
- ½ Apple (diced)
- 1 small box Raisins
- 4 tbsp. Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1½ tbsp. Honey
- ¼ tsp. Ground Cinnamon
- Preheat oven at 350 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, stir together peanut butter, honey, cinnamon, and raisins.
- Add 1 tbsp. peanut butter mixture to one side of bread slice.
- Add banana slices and diced apple on top of peanut butter mixture.
- Place bread slice with mixture on small dough press and slowly close the press tightly around the bread as it folds in half. While holding the press closed, slowly trim away the excess bread with your fingers. Open the press and remove the sandwich.
- Place sandwiches on cookie sheet covered with aluminum foil. Bake in oven for approximately 8 minutes.
- Remove from the oven.
- As an added bit of fun, decorate your sandwiches with Wilton candy eyes and lips. Use raisins and backing behind each candy eye and secure edible pieces with a touch of peanut butter!
- That's it!
