Do you like finding a deal on bread? I LOVE to…. everyone seems to be at a different place in their lives on Bread.
Some people love White Bread. Some love Whole Grain. Others are satisfied buying the Fry’s Brand Bread for $1.00. It’s crazy ~ look around as you shop, are you a cart peeker? I admit that I can be, and it always makes me wonder why people are so all over the map with Bread.
I love to eat Alpine Organic Bread. I’m a HUGE fan of GOOD bread… that and Dave’s Killer Bread is ALL we eat here.
Head to my in laws house and she will ONLY eat Nature’s Own – nothing else. Don’t even attempt to bring her any other variety… she will not touch it. No matter what bread you DO eat, ANY savings is good savings.
Saving money on bread does not always mean getting it for $1 ~ it means getting YOUR desired bread for LESS than what you would normally pay. Because face it, we can eat Fry’s Brand Bread all day, but that’s not what most of us want, right?
Finding ways to get the bread a of your choice for less is not difficult ~ get to know your area of town, and you may find Outlets, secondary Shops that you can visit to score that loaf for less. Put fingers to keys to request coupons. Take advantage of special offers… opportunities are endless.
Shop at the $.99 Store
You can find everything from Nature’s Own 100% Whole Grain to English Muffins, Cobblestone Bread, Sourdough Bread, and MORE — each for $.99. Bread is delivered daily so you can ALWAYS find a significant amount available.
Shop the Outlet Stores
If you are in the Phoenix area .. you are relatively lucky because we have these ALL over town. Some are more prominent than others, but always look while you are out driving around.
I’m in the FAR East Valley and we have several… the Alpine Bakery is in Mesa just North of the US60. They have Organic Bread on markdown most days, you can pay much less than what you would at the grocery store and throw the extras in the freezer for later.
OR, you can drive through the area of Clearview and Southern – they have specials daily too. If you are in the FAR East valley we ALSO have one in Apache Junction on Meridian and Main – on the Southeast Corner of the intersection.
Scout the Clearance Rack
I can’t tell you how many times I’m fortunate enough to find bread on the Clearance rack at Fry’s each night ~ you won’t ever see the cheaper bread – my guess is because those can sit on the shelf for a longer period than others. But the Organic Bread will be on there, and sometimes you can find quite a few.
Once it’s marked down, you can pay up to 60 -75% LESS in price, for day old bread – it’s still good, and you can freeze what you can’t eat immediately. The same goes for bread rolls too.
Write for Product Coupons
Roman Meal is very easy to contact and they always send coupons ~ set aside 5 minutes and write them a quick email to let them know you like their bread and would love future savings.
In fact, see our last post which references reaching out to companies for coupons – you might end up scoring savings from MANY manufacturers, not just Roman Meal.
Take Advantage of Special Offers
Special Offers don’t come around too much… but when they do they can be pretty amazing! This month of July you can score FREE Bread from Alpine Bread Company when you reach out to them by email.
That in itself is pretty terrific – Alpine Organic Bread runs $3.99 per loaf if you don’t pick up at the Outlet – you can score 3 loaves FREE for a whopping $12 in savings.
Make your Own
Do you have a breadmaker? If you do that is nearly an effortless way to save ~ you’ll want to find that ONE recipe you know you can rely on and keep it handy so that you aren’t searching for it when you need it.
The breadmaker can run at night, and bring you fresh bread in the morning – which is the best part. Try finding an inexpensive Bread Machine from the Thrift Store – though if you are wary of getting electronics at a thrift store you can often times find one for $40 – $50 at Newegg or Walmart.
