If you love making own cleaning products (+ many of you do) you can whip together your own batch of antibacterial soft scrub in a pinch with a few things at the house.
I don’t buy the commercial soft scrub, then I don’t buy many cleaning products that are sold commercially – I prefer using what I have at home to make my own, not only is it cheaper I don’t have to worry about the kids getting into them.
Baking soda, Vinegar, Borax, and Castile Soap are always in my cabinet; if you aren’t familiar with Castile Soap (Liquid and Bar) you can pick it up at GNC, Vitacost, or even Amazon. Dr. Woods is cheaper than Dr. Bronner’s .. but some of you may prefer Bronner’s despite cost.
I use the liquid for body wash, and as my hair shampoo – mopping floors, and cleaning counters. You can use it in this recipe too.
- 1/4 C. Castile Soap (I use Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint, from Vitacost)
- 3/4 C. Baking Soda (you can buy the large bag as well)
- 10-13 drops of Tea Tree Oil (or any Essential Oil, I just used Orange today)
- 1 Tbsp Water
Mix up well and keep sealed in a container – or, add a little more water and use a funnel to pour into an empty Dawn Dishsoap bottle
It should be the consistency of frosting for a cake – not too thick but not too thin.
