The end of the year is almost here, and there are several important areas you will want to double check, and triple check BEFORE the New Year is here.
Check your Flexible Spending Account.
Yes we are cutting it to the wire but some accounts allow you to file an extension.
Make sure you know the ins and outs of your FSA to ensure its actually saving you money in the long run. It’s a great tool, if you use it. If you totally forgot to or over contributed learn from this year to make it work for you next.
Check your Credit Report
If you haven’t and you want to know how your credit looks make sure to request your free credit report before the clock strikes midnight on December 31st. This is especially important if you are trying to dig your finances out of a pit or looking at options your family needs to buy a home in the coming year.
You can head HERE to get a FREE Monthly Credit Report and sign up for Daily Credit Monitoring.
Make your Charitable Donations
I don’t want to get into a discussion on where to donate or where not to donate and why or where to see their financial reports.
Everyone can make their own decision.
BUT if you want to declutter before the end of the year and maybe get a little tax help make sure to donate before the 31st and ask for a receipt. This will include items/clothing or money so you still have until tomorrow.
Arizona residents, GREAT NEWS — the Tax Credit Deadline has been Extended to April 15, 2016! Have you made your 2015 tax credit donation to your school yet?
Due to the extension, you now have until April 15, 2016, to make your donation and get the tax credit for 2015!
Squeeze in a Dental Cleaning or other Appointment
Yes it might be a stretch but if you don’t call and try you won’t know. Lots of us that have dental insurance have cleanings that are covered, if you have not gone all year at least try to go get that done!
We have a vision exam tomorrow, we are cutting it short but the most important thing to remember is that it’s getting done.
