Do you have little ones who you struggle with to comb hair every morning? I do. Her name is Ms. Wendy, and every morning it’s a BATTLE to comb that long head of hair. Every day I tell David we’re going to get it chopped, but then she cries… and the whole battle starts all over again.
Her hair is just about as long as mine, and so both her and I can benefit from leave in conditioner – I am not not willing to pay for it.
I hate asking her to get the brush……….gosh knows her tears turn on, and honestly can go days without brushing. So we came to a solution the other day that made her happier. We’ll see if we can stick to it.
Leave-in Conditioner
Dig through your FREE sample pile, and find all that trial size conditioner – this is a great use for it.
You will need:
- 2 tbsp of conditioner (samples work great)
- Spray bottle
- Water
Put a few tablespoons in her little spray bottle and added water; turned it upside down and shook for a quick sec – now we have a bottle in each bathroom.

Awesome! I’ve been doing this for decades. Was a hairstylist (back in the day)… also, use a wide tooth comb and start at the bottom of the hair and slowly work out each tangle and work your way up. =)

I had some pretty traumatic moments about my hair being brushed when I was a kid. I cried the day my mom followed thru with the threat of getting it chopped off. But a fee days later, short hair didn’t faze me, and I could love my mommy again lol.

I go step further (to be all natural) and just use a combination of water and vinegar. Plus, I use the same bottle to clean my mirrors, so it’s double duty in the bathroom!! I used to use the expensive Bumble & Bumble Tonic Lotion (their version of detangler) but it’s about $15 bucks and I’d go through that in a little over a month. Now I swear by the vinegar, and I just re-used the B&B bottle to put it in. :)
