A few months ago, I posted a great offer for military families — it’s one we have taken advantage of, and it helps my daughter tremendously while her dad is not here :( Four year olds struggle alot more than infants do, and it’s really hard for me at times to explain to her why Dad is not here.
Until February 20th, in celebration of Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, A Story Before Bed is offering their most popular book – I Love You More by Laura Duksta, and illustrated by Karen Keesler — FREE for military subscribers.

A Story Before Bed is giving away 100,000 free recordings to deployed or deploying parents in the military. How does it work? Easy! The Service member can record him or herself reading a book – he or she can save it, and mom or dad can read to the children before they go to bed. Absolutely the NEATEST thing I have seen yet :)
The team behind A Story Before Bed is dedicated to connecting children with parents, grandparents, and loved ones through reading. When parents give up seeing their children for weeks or months at a time in the service of their country, they want to do their small part.
Parents who are members of one of the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces who are deploying or already deployed away from their children for any amount of time are eligible to sign up for free recordings from A Story Before Bed, by filling out THIS form to apply. They will send you an e-mail confirming your subscription to their newsletter. Click on the link in the confirmation e-mail and we’ll be in touch with your free recordings. That’s all there is to it.
Once you register, click on the confirmation in your email; then when you get back to the site, “Browse Books”, then scroll down to the “FREE” offers. They will give you several choices to pick from. Your significant other can record themselves (through Webcam) reading the book; he or she can then paste the web address and email the book to the kids so that mom or dad can read it back at home.
