This week is a great week for those of you putting together gift baskets for gals in the family – and guys too!
I love to give consumable gifts – things that people will actually use, versus things that will get tucked away and never seen again.
I plan on giving gift baskets once again and I have already started putting them together. I have shared some of my ideas with those of you on Facebook.. but if you have missed out, you can read and hopefully comment on this post as well!

Cheap CoverGirl at Fry’s this week (in the P&G Buy 4 Save $4) – sponges, eyeshadow and more
FREE or Cheap Neutrogena Face Product – several stores!
FREE Blistex through 11/20 (Fry’s) or cheap Carmex

During the year, and every time I shop, I always have my eyes peeled wide for things that I think would make great, unique additions to a gift basket. …many of the things we have gotten lately would work perfect for a gift basket of some type – whether for a gal in the family, the mailman, the teacher of your children, daycare provider… police offer, military Service member you may know, or even just your cashier at CVS/Walgreens or local grocer.
I would also suggest writing to companies to ask for trial size samples, or coupons (Nivea is a great company to contact!) Use those opportunities for coupons to buy Lip Care FREE when it goes on sale.
Bath and Body Works has many freebies – including lotion, that I sock away and keep for Christmas too!
Today I got my 10 FREE Cardstore Cards and in the box was some nice taffeta paper…….I’ll use that to make some 2 liter soda bottles for my daughter’s teacher as smaller gifts (stuffed with candles and lip care):
I then grab a nice containment device (Target has them in the dollar spot for $1, and Dollar General had buckets for the men for $1) and stuff away, I stuff the tissue inside, fan it really beautiful… then use the cellophane wrap from the Dollar Tree to doll it up.
I actually picked up tool totes for the guys (from Sears) so their items will get stuffed in a handy and functional tote as well.
Last year, and the year prior, I actually made everybody in the family a basket of my deals – including both women, men and teenagers. It’s a great way to give something they’ll use, and appreciate! If you have gift basket ideas please feel free to share as well.

Fill a basket with subscription to his/her favorite magazine, favorite cologne/perfume, comfy warm slippers, a handmade coupon book… i.e., (take the day off Dad/Mom…I’ll mow the lawn this time, wash the car, run errands, paint a room, etc.,) a gift certificate to his favorite sports shop favorite cookies or treat, a personal letter (in your own handwriting) telling him why you love and what you admire about him/her, favorite popcorn spices, favorite movie, a nice picture frame (with the picture of the family in it)
