The temps are heating up here in Phoenix and everyone is going to be trying to stay cool ~ chances are your kids are too… with a sprinkler, or perhaps slushies, even popsicles.
Sometimes even the best popsicles in store are full of sugar, food dye and really just expensive for what they are. If you invested in your own popsicle molds for the summer heat, they’ll get a workout this summer.
Making your own is so easy, not to mention you can put almost anything in them. Raw Milk or Breast Milk, Cantaloupe Popsicles (which are so easy and a great way to stretch out your garden melons!), Watermelon Pops with just ONE ingredient and even Coconut Milk with Honey.
You will want to use the Full Fat Organic Coconut Milk you can capture in can – Native Forest is our favorite and we usually buy in bulk. We picked up at Vitacost for $2 a can recently when they had a savings code you could use on their site…but you can also subscribe & save on Amazon and get it for a great price, too!
Coconut Milk is great for soups, rice, and making your own Shampoo, and so much more ~ it doesn’t really last too long around here, we can blow through 10-12 cans in a matter of 2-3 months. Keep one can back though – and combine with some Raw Honey and you have popsicles for the kids just a few hours later.
Being patient and waiting for them to freeze is probably the hardest thing ever, but if you have somewhere to go, pop them in the freezer before you leave the house, and by the time you come home they’ll likely be frozen for you. Just make sure you order these popsicle molds – they are amazing!
- 1 can of Organic Coconut Milk, 15 oz.
- 3 Tbsp Raw Honey
- In the blender, combine the Coconut Milk (not cream!) and Raw Honey and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into popsicle molds (we were able to do 6).
- Freeze for 3-4 hours. You may have to run the mold under warm/hot water to be able to wiggle out of the mold.
