Warm, comforting Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan – made with simple ingredients in your slow cooker for a meal that comes together with minimal effort!
One of the best smells is opening the door to come home to a crock pot full of chicken parmesan.
If you weren’t hungry before that moment, your stomach would definitely welcome a plate of this deliciousness. Crockpot Parmesan (also known as Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan) is probably my favorite go-to crock pot recipe.
It’s easy to throw together and smells absolutely incredible as it cooks up in the slow cooker throughout the day.
Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan
This slow cooker chicken parmesan comes together easily with a few simple pantry ingredients + chicken:
- pasta sauce (24 oz – I personally love basil!)
- Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, well beaten
- shredded mozzarella
- parmesan cheese
- and the typical staples – olive oil, salt, and pepper
First, beat the egg well. Then dip the chicken in the beaten egg, and coat in your mixture of breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and parmesan.
Then lay in your slow cooker and repeat until all chicken pieces are coated well. Pour the pasta sauce atop the chicken and cover with shredded mozzarella. Top with your slow cooker lid and cook on high for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or low for 6 hours.

Slow Cooker Chicken Parmesan
Ingredients
- 3 boneless skinless chicken breast sliced in half
- 1 C Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/3 C Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 C shredded mozzarella cheese divided
- 24 oz basil tomato sauce or favorite sauce of choice
Instructions
- Evenly spread the olive oil into the bottom and sides of your slow cooker.
- Place egg in a bowl, and beat with a fork. Set Aside. In another bowl, mix together: bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Dip the chicken into the egg, then into the bread crumbs mixture, coating all sides.
- Place the chicken breast pieces in the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top of chicken, and pour sauce over the cheese and chicken.
- Close lid and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3 – 2 1/2 hours.
