Did I ever think I needed essential oils?
The answer is no.
Did I ever think I would ditch the coupons and deals on chemical cleaners in our home several years ago?
The answer is no.
Did I ever think I think that I needed to change the way we ate and the products we used?
The answer is no.
Several years ago, I picked up Fennel essential oil to help with healthy breastfeeding when I had my 4th child. Never did I realize that using that one essential oil would open up a window of change that would help my family.
Never did I realize that essential oils could take the place of everything we used on a daily basis. Not once did I ever think that I would pass up FREE plug-in wall fresheners and candles in favor of less toxic alternatives. Not once did I ever think it was a “big deal” – after all, what harm can something so simple as a plug in really do?
Not once did I ever think that I would ditch all that commercial toothpaste that I picked up FREE with coupons in favor of a more natural alternative – several years ago, I never realized what was wrong with all those things I was using, until we had health issues.
Never did I think that I would question the medical care my husband was getting following his military deployment. .. until he started having health issues as a result of the care that was supposed to be helping him. Our diet wasn’t anything abnormal back then – our lives weren’t much different than most of our friends that were about our age.
Never in a million years did I ever think I could make it a few days, a week or .. a month without visiting the grocery store – I would have thought people who paid $10 for a gallon of milk were ridiculously crazy – stupid in fact, why would anyone do that? You can buy milk at the grocery store for $1.50 when on sale. Why not shop the grocery store? Why not just go fill that 7th prescription (when a simple change in diet might be a better option?)
Not once did I ever think we really had any issues – as we looked around, we noticed that we were pretty healthy (or, so we thought) – others we knew had cancer, fibromyalgia, arthritis and the list goes on. Not us – we thought we were fine.
Looking back .. it’s a blur – It honestly is. Now, I look around and ask myself why I didn’t do this earlier. Why didn’t I incorporate Essential oils in my life 10 years ago when I had my first child? Why didn’t we take more of a vested interest in our food, our health and our body back then?
Easy to ask – hard to contemplate. Never did I realize that self care was even an option – this past few years it has become evident that that $10 gallon of milk is worth so much more. Seeing my kids health improve this last few years tells me that yes, those things DO make a difference. Going to the farm on Thursdays to see more and more people with a vested interest in their family tells me that perhaps maybe, some people also see what I see.
But many others don’t.
I didn’t ever think i’d be that person to ditch everything we were using in lieu of a chemical free lifestyle.
It’s a scary situation out there friends. If you haven’t ever stopped to think about what you eat, what you use, what your money is purchasing, DO IT. Not sure where to start? Start on Netflix – I’m not making this stuff up. Our government might be bought, but the people aren’t – unless you allow yourself to be.
It’ll be three years since we have evolved our mentality – and there is NO way I would ever go back to the way things were before. Over time, as we look around, it becomes more and more clear that we have become too dependent on someone to think for us instead of thinking for ourselves.
Once you know, it’s hard to unknow.
And once you know, it’s impossible to go back.
I haven’t ever been too much of a candle girl, but my in laws love candles – unfortunately when she burns scented candles I get a nasty headache and have to leave her house. I can’t use plug-ins and those nasty air sprayers that go off every few minutes make me sneeze, and give me a slight headache that worsens over time. I can’t go to anyone’s house that uses Scentsy (or, cheap, synthetic essential oils from the grocery store) because the same thing happens.
Thankfully, many of my friends use diffusers now, and if they haven’t, they have strongly considered switching.
Those reactions aren’t normal folks. Having a constant headache from the products you use is not normal. Going into the grocery store and seeing 1,001 cleaning products is not normal – it’s a money making business and unfortunately convenience prevails over everything else.
I have our diffuser running non-stop in our home, not one person ever asks me to turn them off because it bothers them. And my husband suffers from some of the worst allergies.
Do yourself a favor … and look around at your friends, and family – I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have something that they could use help with – from sleep to focus, immune support & more. Commit to making the switch – and help friends and family do the same.
Essential Oils go far beyond a diffuser – they can help you with emotional support, women’s hormones, and support a healthy scalp, digestive and immune system, restful sleep, lymphatic system. They can help with minor muscle and joint aches, arthritis pain, sore throats, supporting healthy blood pressure, cognitive support, normal cellular growth and even support a healthy respiratory system.
