Do you make your own granola bars? If not, it’s so terribly easy – so much easier than buying them at the store.
Though the store might be more convenient, convenience doesn’t always mean you are getting the BEST your money can buy… These bars are just 5 ingredients, and take only a few hours to whip up ~ you can throw plastic wrap over each and keep in a large freezer bag in the freezer for grab’n go mornings.
OR … throw in your child’s lunchbox ~ our kids can take them as long as they don’t eat them in the classroom at snack (some of the children have nut allergies) – they can, however, eat them at lunch so they usually save them until then.
They are best made on a sheet pan or, in a glass rectangular baking dish ~ lay wax paper in the baking dish or on the cookie sheet to allow you to take out as one big mass when done and then you can cut them into pieces MUCH easier (without a dish to wash!)
Easy 5 Ingredient Granola Bars
Ingredients
- 3/4 C. Organic Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/2 C. Honey Raw or Organic is best
- 2 C. Old Fashioned Oatmeal
- 1/4 C. Chocolate Chips or Mini Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 C. Flaxseed
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients except for the Chocolate Chips until well combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips - feel like 1/4 C. is too little? You can add more if you wish.
- Once mixed well, push evenly into an 8" baking dish or into a wax-paper lined sheet pan.
- Pop in the freezer for 3-4 hours or, in the fridge overnight.
- Lift out the bars via the wax paper and cut into even bars, wrap in plastic and freeze in a freezer bag.
