It happens to all of us. We get in a rut, especially in our relationship with our significant other. There is too much to do between work and the kids and we keep saying we will set aside time for us but we rarely do.
If you are on a budget sometimes you feel like your options are reduced to a quick chat while the kids play at the Mc Playground.
That is why, one of my personal goals is to make sure that the husband and I get to go on a date once a month and still stick to our budget. How you ask?
Here are some of our favorite Frugal Date Ideas!
Desert Botanical Garden. What is more romantic then a stroll while observing some of our most beautiful plants and flowers? You can pack a lunch or light dinner and eat at one of the many sitting areas in the Garden. Admission is Free from 8am to 8pm every 1st Tuesday of each Month. So even if you work you might still make it there to spend a couple hours of alone time in this most gorgeous Phoenix Valley attraction. There is also the option of eating there but again we want to focus on a frugal date. I’d suggest making some yummy wraps and having some sparkling water with your significant other while taking in what nature has to offer.
Go to a Museum for FREE. There are so many museums in Phoenix with free admission that you can have your pick as to where to go on a date. These are even more perfect during the summer when its 800 degrees outside.
Go to Dinner and Movies on the Cheap. One of the ways we are able to go out for dinner is by using sites like LivingSocial and Groupon. Its a great way to go out and save around 40-50% at some of the best places to eat in the Valley. We also love to take advantage of the deals that crop up for the Studio Movie Grill. Hey I’m so far behind on what is out there and new that I can probably watch anything the Dollar Movies have to offer and be super happy. We have a few to choose from around the Valley.
RedBox. Yep, we have so many free codes that I like to pick up a free rental, grab a pizza with a discount code and drop off the kids at Grandmas (or a close friend or their BFF’s if you are that close to their parents, heck you can even take turns and watch their kids for them too) for an hour or two. Then the husband and I have a quiet dinner at home or just cuddle up on the sofa to watch a moving of OUR choosing. Sometimes thats all we need…and I’ll leave it at that, I’m sure if you don’t want to watch a movie there is something you can do at your house alone while the kids are out.
Hiking! Right now is the most gorgeous time of year to be in the Valley. How about an early morning hike on a weekend? Can you bribe someone to watch the kids? Stay in tip top shape and explore some amazing trails with your main squeeze. Check out Every Trail, pack up some sandwiches and water and be off!
Comedy Club, Bowling, or Laser Tag! If you already have a Pogo Pass don’t forget to grab your significant other and head to the Comedy Club! I love this! I get the Pogo Pass for family fun and I get PAID BACK with venues where I can go and enjoy a date night! With your Pogo Pass you can go to 2 Shows at the National Comedy Theatre. Its lots of fun and no two shows are ever alike because its interactive comedy.
AND… Don’t forget the POGO Pass! You can score a pass for 60% OFF using code CENTSABLE – and use for Date Night for the next 12 months. The Phoenix Rock Gym would be a GREAT place to take a night with your spouse… as would Laser Tag, DBacks Games & more.
