Do you have a Longhorn Steakhouse in your city? Or, are you a resident of CA or AZ? Well read on!

We need Mystery Shoppers who can be assigned a Dinner or Lunch visit to visit Longhorn Steakhouse or TGI Friday’s (AZ & CA locations only) and complete our online Survey about your experience. Our surveys are designed to provide our Client with a story of your shop from the initial greet of the Host to the Goodbye on your way out of the Restaurant. The survey consists of Y/N questions and short comments. Shoppers will be reimbursed up to $40 for a Longhorn Dinner, $50 for a TGI Friday’s Dinner, $35 for a Longhorn Lunch and $35 for TGI Friday’s Lunch if your survey is complete and on time. Our Clients value the feedback they receive from you and use the information as a valuable training tool with their staff.

Focus on Service is constantly seeking mystery shoppers for lunch and dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse locations, OR, (if you are in Arizona):  TGI Fridays. 

I did a Mystery Shop in March (for lunch) and and another one last July (right when Dave got back from school the first time!) – and I just got an email today for a prospective shop…..so I thought today was a perfect time to give y’all some info!

Here are the details:

Go here and sign up. After you register you can log in to see available shops in your area. If there aren’t any that you see, no worries!! They will email you when available shops are open. You can then apply for available “shops”, and you will get notified if you are selected.

I applied last February, and got selected for my first shop in early March, at TGI Fridays here in Gilbert/Mesa area.  It was a great way for me to eat out, without feeling guilty for spending $$ eating out (ha ha ha…because I NEVER eat out…I’m saving my money!)

  • Each household is able to mystery shop for Longhorn’s twice a year. 
  • You will pay up front for your shop.  You will get your check within 3-4 weeks of your shop. 
  • You can apply to a lunch or dinner shop. Dinner reimbursement is slightly higher, as you are required to purchase desert.
  • Lunch reimbursement is $25.00 towards your meal, and $10.00 for filling out the survey on time. Dinner is reimbursed between $30-50.00 for the meal, and $10 for the survey.

There are requirements that must be met for you to successfully get reimbursed for your trip. Those requirements will be communicated to you once you are selected and you confirm your mystery shop. When I did my mystery lunch shop, I went on a Tuesday and my daughter (3) ate free (kids lunch!) – I was required to order 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 drink.  There will be other requirements, so it’s best to read the requirements if you are confirmed for a visit. 
After your shop is completed, you will be required to fill out a survey online about your shop. This is where it pays to have a good memory (or good notes!)  The survey is very detailed, and asks you a variety of information about the experience, from the time you arrived, to the number of minutes it took to make your meal, and so forth.  It should take you 20 minutes to complete the survey; after you submit the survey, Focus on Service will process your payment, which should arrive in 3-4 weeks.

  1. I signed up the last time you posted this. And my whole experience was great! It was easy to apply, be assigned a shop, fill out the paperwork, get prompt payment, etc. Being paid to go on a "date" with my husband is fantastic!! I since signed up with a different company and did another restaurant shop. Completely different experience…their paperwork was harder and more involved, they were SUPER picky about everything, returned my report and made me correct things, and I was supposed to be paid last month…and have seen nothing from them yet. Grrrr! BUT I will definitely do another shop for Focus on Service. Thank you for mentioning this!!

  6. Welcome :) I signed up for a shop today ..we'll see if I get picked. I have done it 2 times now and very easy. If you pay attention to detail and just act normal (which I tend to do anyways) you'll do fine :)

  8. I've been mystery shopping for over ten years and really like it — especially hotel ones when we travel. There are some that are sooooo not worth it, so be careful not to take just anything a company offers. Of course, others are wonderful! :)

    I am registered with 50 -75+ ?? companies. It's really the only way to see what's available. Confidentiality agreements don't allow you to say what clients each company has, so you won't find extensive lists online.

    Here's the best site out there (in my option, at least!) that lists TONS of companies — though not who their clients are. :( (Some list regions or types of businesses they do.) If you really want to get into it, you need to apply for A LOT and then sit back and wait for waaaay too many emails to roll in. :)

    Also, don't expect to get rich, but expect to get some great freebies (reimbursements) that require some work. (Kind of like cutting coupons and tracking down bargains . . .can be work, but worth it VERY often!) :) I hear people do this full time, but I would go insane.
