With the new cooler looking wipe containers comes my ardent desire to keep them all, compound that with my daughters love of Frozen and the fact that we all use diaper wipes in the house for one thing or another I started to scour the internet for more and more uses for these handy dandy containers.
No I’m not a hoarder…YET :)
We rounded up ten fun ways to give these containers a second life. I’m sure there are MANY more… but these were our favorite.
1. Chalkboard Storage Tubs. I found this cool tutorial for sanding the front of the tub and painting it with chalkboard paint. I do think this will work wonderfully with the Chalkboard labels I recently bought …… or, give it a try without buying too much paint – use the Chalkboard Spray paint here at Amazon . That would work super.
2. Car Emergency Kit This is an amazing idea. The original blog post for this is no longer up but if you look at the picture it gives you a great idea of what to put in there.
My Car Emergency Kit would include the following:
- Extra charger for Cell Phones or one of those external chargers
- Advil for Adult and Kids
- Travel size sunscreen, we are in the Desert after all :)
- Hair Elastics
- Stain Pen or Stain Wipes
- Toilet Seat Covers
- Antibacterial Gel
- Spare Change/Emergency Money (a few bucks don’t think I’m saying $100)
- Folded Plastic bags, and Ziplocs
- Band-aids and antiseptic wipes
What else would you add? Of course this also works exceptionally well when building First Aid Kits and what better time then now with the great band aid deals we’ve had lately.
3. DIY HouseHold Cleaning wipes. Yes use it to hold more wipes! I love the idea of cleaning with green products so I’m on board with making household cleaning wipes using just vinegar as in the tutorial but I was thinking about using the Vinegar Orange Cleaner we made recently for added umph.
4. Card Game or Puzzle Piece holder. You’ve had it happen, I can’t be the only one right? You open up a new deck of Uno Cards and then you lose or rip the box or they just won’t fit right anymore! Also great to store for all those puzzles the kids accumulate, or those neat magnetic numbers and letters.
5. Crayon, Marker, Pencil Keeper! This looks really cute, I don’t think I want to go so artsy myself. I’ll be honest with you I just love the idea of all those crayons they have going into one box that closes nicely and get put away. But …do check out the great tutorial because it is super adorable.
6. Travel Lego Play Box. This has to be one of my all time favorite ideas. I love this idea for restaurant visits, and car trips. Just a great way to keep those little ones busy and happy and Mom less frazzled.
7. Diaper Wipe Case Laptop. This is for you crafty ones, I really love the idea of this and may give it a try myself. I’d take it to
a different level personally. Instead of printed pictures I’d cut and use a piece of white board to fit the lid, and under the keyboard have dry erase markers, a small piece of fabric to erase and maybe reusable stickers that they could create different scenes with and change it up.
8. Diaper Wipe Case as a Coupon Organizer. Of course this is my favorite use! Its great for those of you that are beyond a handheld organizer but squeamish about a binder. Here you have more space and can keep more coupons. This same idea
works with recipe cards, flash cards for the kiddos, etc.
9. Yarn Holder. If you have kids or pets you know how quickly your yarn can become someones toy. This is a great way to keep it neat and ready to use.
10. Travel Snack Boxes. Great idea and so versatile. you can fill it up with all sorts of healthy snacks and be ready when the kids get hungry or need a little pick me up. Great for Moms too :D ….. just hide the Dove Candy in there.. since they may think it’s wipes, they may not touch it – leaving more for you.
