Over the last few weeks we have been introduced to yet MORE opportunities to save through apps we can use on our Smartphone or.. our computer.
A good majority of us have a SmartPhone that we carry around daily – chances are…. you have one or more money saving apps on there. If you carry loyalty cards make sure you register for Key Ring… which will keep your loyalty cards with you on your smart device at all times.
The apps above, in some form or fashion, help me to keep more money in my pocket (or, earn money to keep in my pocket!)
Fry’s Food Store. Grab the Fry’s app for iOS or Android to load one-time use digital coupons to your Fry’s card without logging into a computer. You can also score occasional Friday FREEBIES on the app as well – the coupons will not double in value but some are higher value than paper coupons.
Gas Buddy. Find the cheapest Gas, on the Go. It lets you search for gas prices by city, state and updates in real time.
BerryCart. Earn cash rewards for buying healthy food – available for both Android and Apple Devices.
SavingStar. Allows you to save electronic coupons to your card that you can redeem at your favorite store. Every Friday they have a FREE Offer that can be used to score a FREE item after digital rebate offer.
iBotta. Allows you to earn can back for items you purchase regularly, by taking a picture of your receipt and submitting through your mobile. Right now you can score $10 if you sign up HERE as a NEW Member and redeem your first offer.
Checkout51. Another app that allows you to earn money on shopping for your favorite items in store. Simply take a picture of your receipt and submit through your mobile or online.
Favado. One of my favorite apps! You can make your grocery list on your mobile device, search for sale items, and find the lowest price amidst various stores ALL from your SmartPhone.
Shopkick. Earn points (Kicks) for walking into stores, scanning items and buying products. Then redeem those rewards for gift cards & other items.
Cartwheel. This is great if you are a Target shopper. Cartwheel is a Target discount on items that can be paired with BOTH Target and Manufacturer coupons for greater savings in Target stores nationwide.
Just 4 U. This is critical if you are a Safeway shopper. You can find coupons, and grab your weekly personalized prices for Safeway all from your mobile device.
Shopmium. This is similar to iBotta, Checkout51 & BerryCart in that you buy designated items, take a picture of the receipt, and score money back. Unlike the others, you do not have to achieve a balance to receive your payout.
MobiSave. Each Monday, MobiSave will release up to 85 offers you can take advantage of. Check those that interest you BEFORE you buy – then, make your store purchase (anywhere that provides an itemized receipt) & snap a picture when you get home. Your earnings deposit into Paypal within 24 hours.
Snap App. This is a NEW app that just emerged in October of 2014 – you will purchase items at ANY store, and snap a picture of your receipt – some offers are limited, and others are unlimited – however, they can run out at any time. You have 2 days after purchase to submit your receipt, however, since offers can exhaust at any time you may want to be more proactive to get in the picture as quickly after purchase as possible. Unfortunately this app is no longer around.
Shrink App. Offers are limited – and the app is for iOS ONLY – register with code JPEFAI to score $2 FREE once you register – no purchase needed! Cash out with Paypal when you hit $20.
Jingit App. This app is ALSO fairly new – you can find offers for participating stores once you register & log in. They have select offers of higher value for some stores, and routine offers for others. Simply buy ht item and snap a pic of your receipt for reimbursement. You can cash out at ANY time – and Jingit can be used on Android OR iOS.
AND keep your eye on the recent Find&Save App – this one is one of the newer apps as well.

Great list – here are some other ones that are great for saving!
flipp – scan the weekly flyers for groceries (love this app!)
RetailMeNot – coupons!
RedLaser – compare online prices (great for electronics and other large purchases that have lots of online comparables)
Price Cruncher – manage frequent items, track unit prices, and shopping list (great for weekly groceries and other household items that don’t have online prices)
Checkout 51 – get rebates on items that I purchased by scanning my receipt (who doesn’t like getting money back on things they were going to buy anyways!)

I have fun with Receipt Hog. Guess it’s the gambler in me. I never win much with the spinning if the wheel, but I still look forward to that clicking sound.
